Yes it's official - the dead have arisen!!!

I can't believe I haven't been here since March....*shock*.

I want to thank those of you that kept stopping by my page - it means a lot to me that someone actually noticed and could be bothered to comment.

Well a lot has happened.

I've had some health issues to tackle and its not been easy by any stretch of the imagination...

Ive had my heart raked over hot coals twice...and I have come to the conclusion that love is something other people are meant to have. My energy will be channelled some other way.

Until recently I was quite depressed, very black in mood. Even the oldest friend I have that knows me better than anyone was worried, very worried indeed. Then something amazing happened - and its changed everything

Let me backtrack - I discovered Second Life in mid-April and carved out a tiny niche for myself. First as a Volunteer for a rather well-known non-profit group that assists SL residents with all manner of things related to SL. It is also a safe haven from the madness that so often dominates in that metaverse. It hasnt been easy for me there - but I can say that I know that I have done good work being in service to others and thats all I care about now.

The thing that has changed my life is - I am now officially a lay priest for the Anglican Church in Second Life. I led my first Sunday service this past Sunday and will lead my first evening service this Thursday. This isnt a game - its very real. This endeavour is sanctioned by the Archbishop of Canterbury and with any luck I will be getting liscened by my local Bishop.

I have written here, I believe, of the strong call I knew was there for the Anglican Priesthood. I was presented with the opportunity to pursue it once and panicked - low self-esteem, doubting myself .... But I did work for a Bishop and was very active in Church life back home in NYC. I even assisted with ldeveloping and leading courses along with attending Seminary when I could.

Well I think time needed to pass and more life experience acquired. And so here I am... keen to pursue a PhD in Theology in be ordained. Im as ambitious as always - setting my sights on Oxford or Cambridge. Knowing that my chances are slim to none - I am going to cast my wide here in the UK and do my best to secure a place with a really good program. As long as the self-doubt doesnt take hold I should be OK. I think this time I am far stronger and have the determination to see it through. I cant remember a time that has been so exciting and filled with undiluted joy.

I am also happy to say that a dear friend of mine of more than 20 years (YIKES!) has joined dA. Please stop by Patricia Mallory-Miah's page to say hello and tell her I sent you. While your there have a look at her gallery and read her Intro journal - shes a great lady with far more natural talent then I will ever have.

In the meantime, its time to get re-acquainted. Ill post more as things progress - it would be too much to post everything right now.
